Despite the controversy of the racism issue, rather the so-called #SoWhite Oscars, the 88th Academy Awards has successfully pushed through and announced its winners from various nominations. The event was hosted by Chris Rock.
Leonardo De Caprio took home the Best Actor Award from the movie The Revenant wherein the award has been the much anticipated announcement among all the other categories. After five nominations over the years, Leo finally brought the award home.
Brie Larson, on the other hand, took home the Best Actress award for the movie, Room; Alicia Vikander as the Best Supporting Actress for the movie The Danish Girl and Mark Rylance took home the Best Supporting Actor Award from the Steven Speilberg movie, The Bridge of Spies.Â
